The Klingelnberg continuous indexing SPIRON® method (Face Hobbing)

The SPIRON® method is a well-established method worldwide for highly productive large-scale production of spiral and hypoid bevel gears. The productivity of the SPIRON method is based on continuous gearing kinematics without partial movements. Pertaining to the high quality standards of a modern, eco-friendly dry cutting process, the method is characterized in particular by its tool system, consisting of a single-part cutter head and fully coated carbide stick blades.

Highlights:

  • High-precision cutter heads with excellent mechanical properties due to a monoblock design
  • High tool accuracy with innovative stick blade fixing system
  • High performance thanks to high number of blade groups
  • Flexible working range through various cutter heads
  • Ideally suited for dry-cutting in finishing quality with carbide stick blades (3-face grinding) and subsequent hard finishing via lapping
  • Usable for continuous indexing gearing processes with simultaneous flank machining (completing) and bevel gear designs with a constant tooth depth and conical gap floor
