The skyrocketing visitor numbers attest to the fact that the A&T trade show in the Italian city of Turin has become an outstanding forum for robotics and precision measurement since its start in 2007. Each year, it brings together innovative technologies on just under 4,000 square meters of exhibition space. This year’s focus is on Industry 4.0, and a smart factory brought to life through a cooperative effort by the exhibition partners provides tangible examples of the type of solutions that are being realized today. The P 16 G and P 65 precision measuring centers presented by Klingelnberg also facilitate intelligent production concepts by making closed-loop automated quality control. The precision and robustness of the precision measuring centers in Klingelnberg’s P series open up a notable potential for savings in quality assurance.
Innovation in component measurement
Whether disk-shaped components or short shafts – wherever gauges alone have previously been used for measuring – the P 16 G can perform the very same measurements directly on the shop floor. The advantage: The P 16 G measures any number of different components, making it significantly more flexible than gauges. The P 16 G does away with both the high cost of the gauges and the long replacement periods due to factors such as drawing changes. In addition, this newest addition to the P series family, used directly on the production machine, makes it possible to take advantage of statistical process control – and this ensures the traceability of components from the shop floor.
The new precision is black: Klingelnberg presents its new machine design
The P 65 precision measuring center also belongs to the new P series generation. Here the tried and tested technology was further developed specifically to meet the strict requirements for measuring accuracy in complete measurement of axially symmetrical precision parts. Beyond the technical functions, ease of operation and ergonomics are gaining importance, not only in processing machines but also in measuring machines. For this reason, Klingelnberg has thoroughly overhauled and standardized the design and ergonomics of its product range. The P 65 is the first machine in which function, design and ergonomics have been brought in line with the new standards.
In hall Oval Lingotto Fiere, booth AR8 E-F, visitors will be able to see the advantages of the new machines for themselves in a number of convincing live demonstrations – and will be able to experience the optimized ergonomics in a hands-on trial run.
