Expanded production capacity: Klingelnberg celebrates inauguration of an additional production shop in Györ, Hungary

May 29, 2017 marked the official opening of an additional production shop of the Klingelnberg Group in Hungary’s Pannonia region with a ceremony attended by an assembly of invited guests. The new production shop was officially opened for operation by Jan Klingelnberg, CEO of the Klingelnberg Group, together with representatives from official political and business circles, customers and suppliers alongside members of the Hungarian press and employees from the various Klingelnberg sites.
The production line was set up on the former grounds of Klingelnberg Hungária Kft. in a new, ultra-modern shop built specifically for this purpose. Strengthening of the facilities in Hungary is part of Klingelnberg’s Production Strategy 2020, which involves the expansion of vertical integration abroad in addition to major investments in the Hückeswagen site.

Germany’s Bergisches Land region and Hungary’s Pannonia have one thing in common: ultra-modern bevel gear production facilities
At the German plant in Hückeswagen/Winterhagen, some 100 employees manufacture made-to-order spiral bevel gears with diameters of up to 3,000 millimeters. But that’s not enough to fully meet the demand for high-quality bevel gear sets: Each year, Klingelnberg produces another 10,000 bevel gear sets with diameters of up to 500 millimeters in Györ, Hungary. For over ten years, small and mid-sized gear sets have been manufactured there to the same quality standards.

Hungary has always been a key location for the Klingelnberg Group. In the more than ten years since the Hungarian subsidiary was established, the number of employees has grown by 50 percent in conjunction with the production expansion, making it the largest subsidiary of the Group in terms of workforce.
Klingelnberg’s significance as an employer was also highlighted by the high-ranking visitors from the political sphere at the opening ceremony: Zoltán Németh, Member of the Hungarian National Assembly, and Dávid Fekete, Deputy Mayor of the city of Györ, also gave a speech and thanked Klingelnberg’s senior management for the expansion of local operations. For his part, Jan Klingelnberg was delighted with the speed and professionalism of everyone involved in the expansion of the production shop: “Our first European production facility for machine parts outside of Germany is the next logical step in our successful internationalization strategy in recent years.”
