Major Release 2024.10

The following chapters refer to new features of this release, in relation to the previous release. If a feature is already documented in detail in Confluence, the link can also be inserted in the respective chapters.

The following Windows version was tested with this release:
Windows 11 Pro 22H2  (Build 22631.4112 vom 2024-08-27)

General

The features included in the October 2024 release are described below. The release is based on the last published minor release.

Release HTBasic Version 2021

With this release, TransEra HTBasic 2021, which has been in internal testing for some time, is released for series production. It brings some internal improvements and replaces the previously released HTBasic version 10.1.3. It will be installed on all new machines, but will not be updated automatically with an MGB_Update due to licence terms.

Bevel Gear

Introduction of Waviness measurement

The existing options within the bevel gear software have been expanded. The existing form and roughness measurements have been expanded to include waviness measurement. The measurement is configured within the ‘Waviness’ option. The tooth to be measured, the flank side, point density, measuring length and evaluation parameters can be defined. The result is output on the waviness measurement sheet:

EasyStart

Management of EasyStart tile access authorisations

A new function has been added to the authorisation concept in EasyStart: On the ‘Applications’ page, individual users for whom this app tile is visible can be selected by right-clicking on the app tile -> Edit button under ‘User assignment’. Only ‘Administrators’ or ‘Service’ users can activate this option. This gives administrators the option of controlling access to certain applications for specific target groups.

PM Features

Context-dependent path selection possible

The Presentation Manager has been standardizing the output of measurement sheets for some time now and displays them after the measurement. Depending on the application in which the user has carried out a measurement, the target paths can now be displayed specifically in the Presentation Manager during publication. For example, customized paths can be output differently for STI measurement sheets than for bevel gear measurement sheets:

The paths and the associated applications are defined in the PM settings GUI:

Design customization

As part of product maintenance, the design of the Presentation Manager has been updated. It is now based on the bar concept, which Microsoft also uses as the basis for the Office 365 applications. This does not result in a functional change.

Before

After

Output of the files in the generally used format (output of QS-stat files in UTF8 coding without BOM, for example)

The output of the UTF8 file format has been adapted. Previously, files in UTF-8 format were created with Byte Order Mark (BOM). This led to complications in some QA systems. From now on, the output will be in UTF-8 format without BOM. This change improves compatibility with systems that have problems with BOM and ensures a standardized file format.

Bugfix

The file extensions in the ‘File type’ column are now case-insensitive

StylusManager Features

Transfer of mass moment of inertia, e.g. for calibration

With a centred calibration on the rotary table, it can be assumed with certainty that no workpiece is clamped. In this case, the inertia can be automatically set to 0. On smaller machines (P 16 to P 65), over 90 per cent are calibrated centrically on the rotary table. In all other cases, the following message appears before calibration:

Common overview button / opt. sensor in the stylus manager

The optical sensor is also output when the button overview is printed out

Clarify the presentation of deviations

Values that exceed the tolerance during probe calibration are still displayed in red and also in bold type. This makes the visual differentiation much clearer.

Probe selection via assigned calibration gauge when calibrating all probes in the probe changer

Many customers often use several different probe calibration gauges to calibrate the probes. Customers for whom the probes from the probe change magazine are assigned to a specific calibration gauge now have the option of selecting the corresponding probes via an additional selection switch (Calibration gauge 2, 5, 15...).

Bugfix

  • Optical sensor: the last calibration date was not displayed.
  • Roughness Reference Calibration: Verification of the 2 out of 3 Rule with unfiltered values and new ScalingFactor

Cylindrical gear Features

Optimized Handling: Block Wheel Measurement and input of all protocol data

The interface previously allowed the measurement to be ‘started’ without the user having to go through all the start screens and fill them in. This can lead to problems with QS-Stat analyses. The following warning dialogue is new and points this out.

Protruding material in the end area of gauges

For all new machines, the following will be set:

Bugfix

  • Selection of ‘Eccentrically corrected graduation values’ in the interface only possible for logged-in users
  • When using optics: standardized GDE interfaces (only one instead of two GDE files)

Shaft Features

New password mode added

The authorisation level can be set in the shaft software. Another option has been added to the previously known options: All functions except start measurement and password entry are deactivated if you are not logged in. Any unauthorised changes are prevented.

Bugfixes

  • Special gear software - Pitch evaluation: Measurement results DFQ file and measurement sheet now match
  • Processing of references in the special gearing software: The references are no longer displayed in the masks as they are not necessary
  • Special characters are correctly processed when re-evaluating
  • Corrected output of roughness tolerances
  • Prevention of duplicate identification number assignment
  • Various improvements to program stability
  • Starting a measurement is only possible with a calibrated probe

Miscellaneous

  • Next level OPC UA V1.2 released
  • Use of GINA and AUS for workpiece alignment on large machines
  • Gina Shaving Wheel: Input measurement via n-teeth as in Non-Gina
  • Write protocol data from spur gear to GDE
