JIMTOF 2026, the 33rd Japan International Machine Tool Fair, will take place from October 26 to 31, 2026, at Tokyo Big Sight. Over the course of six exhibition days, JIMTOF will showcase the latest developments and innovations in the machine tool industry, providing a key platform for international exchange among experts, companies, and trade visitors. KLINGELNBERG Japan Ltd. will be present at Booth E1006, where it will showcase its technologies through virtual machine exhibits and simulations.
R 300 – The Gear Noise Finder
The metrology capabilities of the Höfler R 300 Cylindrical Gear Roll Testing Machine enable reliable identification of the causes of gearbox noise resulting from insufficient gear quality. Thanks to its short measurement cycle, the R 300 can be easily integrated into any manufacturing process and enables 100% quality control of produced gears. The R 300 is designed for all rolling inspection methods relevant to evaluating the running and noise behavior of gears, including single-flank rolling tests, structure-borne noise analysis, and angular acceleration testing. Double-flank rolling tests can also be performed when required.
Depending on its configuration, the R 300 can inspect both gears and shafts, which is particularly important for eDrive drivetrain components. Compared to sampling inspections, 100% quality control generates significant amounts of data. For data analysis and reporting purposes, measurement data from the R 300 can be processed using the Klingelnberg Gear Noise Analyzer (GNA) software, enabling the development of tolerances for production monitoring.
Speed Viper 300 – Highly Productive Generating Grinding for Mass Production
The Höfler Speed Viper cylindrical gear grinding machine, designed for highly productive generating and polish grinding in large-scale production environments, is available in three machine configurations to meet individual requirements: the single-spindle Speed Viper 300 and the dual-spindle Speed Viper² 180 and Speed Viper² 80. Depending on the model, the Speed Viper is designed for maximum workpiece diameters of 80, 180, and 300 mm. The Speed Viper² dual-spindle concept minimizes non-productive times to an absolute minimum.
In addition, the Speed Viper can be equipped with partial or fully automated solutions featuring an automation interface in accordance with the VDMA 34180 standard. The Gear Operator machine software and wizard-based, process-oriented operator guidance ensure easy handling, even for highly complex applications. Modern drive and control technology further guarantees maximum energy efficiency.
KLINGELNBERG P 40: Precision Measuring Center for Maximum Reliability and Accuracy
As an indispensable component of stable and quality-assured manufacturing processes, the fully automated CNC-controlled P 40 Precision Measuring Center makes a significant contribution to process reliability. The compact system is designed for workpieces with diameters of up to 400 mm and enables precise inspection of cylindrical gears, shaper cutters, skiving tools, worms and worm gears, hobs, bevel gears, as well as general dimensional, form, and positional deviations of rotationally symmetric workpieces. In addition, the P 40 is suitable for measuring camshafts, crankshafts, and rotors.
Thanks to integrated temperature compensation, the precision measuring center delivers reliable results directly on the shop floor, even at ambient temperatures ranging from +15°C to +35°C. Fast and highly accurate data acquisition is supported by a high-precision workpiece rotary table. A wide variety of measuring tasks, including coordinate, form, gear, and roughness measurements, can be carried out in a single setup.
The versatile scanning 3D probe system with digital measurement acquisition in all coordinate directions ensures maximum accuracy and minimal tolerances. Its graphical programming environment and intuitive software concept enable user-friendly operation. The immediate availability of measurement results leads to significant time savings in production processes.
Quiet Bevel Grinding – For Noise Optimization of Ground Bevel Gears
With Quiet Bevel Grinding, Klingelnberg offers an innovative method for optimizing the noise characteristics of ground bevel gears. Through a low-frequency harmonic variation of machine kinematics from tooth slot to tooth slot, the topography of each individual tooth flank is modified. As a result, excitation is distributed across multiple frequencies rather than concentrated in individual tonal frequencies. Similar to lapped gear sets, the resulting sound resembles multifrequency noise, which is perceived as significantly more pleasant from a psychoacoustic perspective.
For production environments, Quiet Bevel Grinding offers the advantage of being implemented without affecting cycle times or gear measurement processes. Thanks to the targeted distribution of modifications around the circumference of the component, the proven closed-loop process can be applied without restriction.
Digital Solutions for Intelligent Gear Manufacturing
In addition to its machine and metrology technologies, KLINGELNBERG will showcase innovative digital solutions for data-driven manufacturing at JIMTOF 2026. The portfolio supports manufacturers in making production processes more transparent, efficient, and sustainable. Visitors will gain insights into the solutions Smart Tracing, Data Driven Quality Management (DDQM), and Smart Factory, which enable the seamless utilization of production and quality data throughout the entire manufacturing process.
