Smart Tracing is a web-based software solution for analyzing machine behavior—essentially the Klingelnberg DDQM (Data-Driven Quality Management) for any CNC machine, regardless of the manufacturer. Relevant process and performance information from the CNC machine is uploaded in the form of servo traces and managed and analyzed via a simple browser application. This makes it possible to gain insights into cause-and-effect relationships for individual machines or the entire production process. Control and regulation deviations, contour deviations, the currents of individual machine axes, and other performance indicators contained in the time-series data are made visible and usable. High-frequency recording of machine movements and control information provides insights into the machine’s individual performance spectrum—a unique machine fingerprint. These signals can be analyzed, archived, evaluated for tolerance, and compared using Smart Tracing.
