Now Available: The Latest Issue of GEARS inline, Focusing on How Technologies Change over Time

The latest issue of Klingelnberg’s customer magazine, GEARS inline, is out now! It’s packed with all the latest insights into the exciting world of gear technology. The eleventh edition is all about cutting-edge solutions, including solutions for electric mobility, and sets new standards in quality inspection.

This issue of the magazine is dedicated to the Höfler R 300 Cylindrical Gear Roll Testing Machine, which plays a key role in the noise testing of cylindrical gears. When combined with the Höfler Speed Viper 300 Cylindrical Gear Grinding Machine, it’s the ideal solution for the reliable production of transmissions. The Speed Viper 300 also delivers the highest standards of high-precision polish grinding to meet the demands of increased efficiency. Its established Closed Loop technology ensures unparalleled accuracy.

The GEARS inline eleventh edition also showcases the new Klingelnberg P 152 Precision Measuring Center – a machine that’s setting new standards in measuring technology for large gears, such as those used in wind energy. The combination of high-precision mechanical engineering, advanced measuring software, and measuring technology ensures quality and efficiency at the highest level. Klingelnberg’s successful collaboration with Zahnradfertigung Ott GmbH & Co. KG shows how bespoke solutions can streamline production and enhance end-product quality.

Waviness analysis is another key focus in this issue. Waviness on tooth flank surfaces is often the cause of increased noise excitation in the transmission. The aim of effective quality assurance in gear production should be to detect such waviness reliably and as early as possible. Our two guest authors, Prof. Dr. Günther Gravel (Managing Director, pt&v GmbH) and Matthias Fath (Research Associate at the Institute of Production Technology, HAW Hamburg), report on this topic.

The current issue also examines the evolution of software development in mechanical engineering – which is defined by technological advances and the influence of Industry 4.0 – and addresses the essential elements of good software development in this sector.

And KLINGELNBERG America Inc., the third-largest subsidiary of KLINGELNBERG AG, is celebrating its 25th anniversary. Headquartered in Saline, Michigan, a hub for the automotive industry and tourist attractions, the US organization exemplifies dedication and a customer-centric approach.

The GEARS inline editorial team invites you, the readers, to take inspiration from the latest products, innovations, and success stories. To request the magazine, simply send an email to marketing(at)klingelnberg.com with the keyword “GEARS inline” in the subject line.
