A Company Rich in Tradition: Reunion at the KLINGELNBERG Hückeswagen Plant

Alongside the annual service anniversary celebration, the reunion of retired employees is another traditional event at KLINGELNBERG. Every three years, the KLINGELNBERG works council and Management Board invite all retired colleagues back for a reunion celebration. On 18 April 2024, Group Executive Board Members Christoph Küster (CFO), Philipp Kannengießer (COO), and Prasad Kizhakel (CSO) joined deputy chairman of the works council Ibrahim Er and Head of Human Resources Michael Schwarzer in welcoming the retired employees to this year’s get-together at the Hückeswagen, Gemany plant.

Over 100 guests in total accepted the invitation. The works council officially opened the event at 3:30 p.m. with a walking tour of the company. The directors then kicked off the proceedings with a look back at recent events and a look forward to future plans.

“We are delighted at the large turnout and are pleased that there is still such great interest in the company after so long,” said CFO Christoph Küster during his welcome address. “Gathered here today at Klingelnberg, we have a combined age of more than 8,000 and a total of more than 4,300 years of professional experience. The oldest participant is 92 years old, and another former employee started at Klingelnberg 73 years ago, on 01 April 1951. A guest from Schleswig-Holstein traveled the farthest distance to be here with us. That’s quite impressive.”

“Our former colleagues always enjoy getting together for these events,” added deputy chairman of the works council Ibrahim Er. The reunion of former “Klingelnberger” was a great success and the reminiscing continued well into the evening.
