KLINGELNBERG TRAINEES RECEIVE CERTIFICATE OF ACHIEVEMENT FROM IHK KÖLN

A “very good” outlook on the future, times three: Three Klingelnberg trainees recognized by the Cologne Chamber of Commerce and Industry (IHK Köln) for their winning achievements – a testament to the training concept implemented by the family-operated market leader. Top marks for personal commitment, for the performance of all participants and for the promotion of young talent in the region.

Vocational education with top marks: On November 3, 2016, three Klingelnberg trainees, Alina Jansen, Nick Fesser and Raphael Meier, were honored by the IHK Köln for their outstanding achievement. The three were among the 484 young people in the IHK Köln district this year to pass their final examinations with the mention “very good”. Of the approximately 11,000 young men and women who took their final exams this year, just 4.4 percent achieved these results.

“We are proud of our trainees and are delighted with their results. For us, it is also a confirmation that we are on the right track with our vocational training and continuing education concepts and are giving young people a solid base as they begin their life and career paths,” says Christoph Küster, Managing Director of Finance and Human Resources at Klingelnberg. In light of the demographic changes currently taking place, the promotion of young talent has become a topic of vital importance for the mechanical engineering firm based in Hückeswagen, Germany. “We are increasingly taking it upon ourselves to provide vocational training opportunities in-house for our young employees,” explains Christoph Küster. “This includes a greater emphasis on internal promotion and skills acquisition. We are currently developing concepts that will allow our own technicians and high-potential employees within the company to grow through exciting in-house programs,” adds Dennis Weicher, Director of Human Resources.

Vocational training at Klingelnberg is an important component of this strategy, and the results are evident: Alina Jansen, Nick Fesser and Raphael Meier achieved at least 92 of 100 possible points on their final exams. For their accomplishment, they were awarded a certificate of achievement from the IHK Köln, presented at a ceremony to honor the 66 top trainees in total from the Oberbergischer Kreis region. The awards were presented by Michael Sallmann, Head of the IHK Köln Oberberg business office, and Maik Krämer, CEO of A.S. Creation and a member of Oberberg’s advisory assembly. Klingelnberg also had the honor of receiving an award, for outstanding achievement in vocational training.
