In cooperation with 18 partner companies, Siemens AG founded "MindSphere World e.V.", a worldwide user organization for the cloud-based open IoT operating system MindSphere, in early 2018. The aim of the organization is to drive forward the digital transformation of the industry. Mechanical engineering company Klingelnberg is now also an official member, since joining the association in November 2018.

MindSphere from Siemens connects products, plants, systems and machines, allowing companies to put the wealth of data from the Internet of Things (IoT) to use through extensive analyses. MindSphere World provides support to its members both in developing and improving technical solutions on the MindSphere platform and in exploiting new markets in the digital economy.

“Digitization is everywhere at Klingelnberg,” says Daniel Meuris, Head of Digitization and Virtualization at Klingelnberg. “In the age of IoT and Industry 4.0, solutions for networked production systems are becoming increasingly important. This requires skills and intelligent analysis for developing innovative systems. We have combined our expertise from a broad range of areas in our new Digital Unit division to meet this demand. Our aim is to pave the way for modern, software-driven production processes going forward,” Meuris explains.
